Intimate surgery
For the past 25 years, requests related to the aesthetic appearance of intimate areas have increased rapidly, largely due to the rise of the internet. Under the cover of anonymity, people have felt freer to speak openly. At the same time, certain standards have gradually emerged, and expectations have evolved, sometimes becoming unreasonable.
My role as a physician, and my respect for the Hippocratic Oath, increasingly lead me to refuse procedures that are, let us not forget, irreversible acts.

Indications for intimate surgery
It is important to know yourself, to look at yourself, and to feel good about your self-image.
Hair removal trends have made the intimate areas of both men and women more visible, contributing to the growing demand for aesthetic improvement.
Micro-invasive procedures, such as injections or fat grafting, which are reversible, can be performed with limited risk when well indicated.
On the other hand, irreversible procedures, such as reduction of the labia minora, should only be performed when a true abnormality has been identified by a specialist, whether a gynecologist or an aesthetic surgeon.

Overview of procedures
In both men and women, there are two main categories of intimate surgery : procedures aimed at rejuvenation or correction of age-related changes, and procedures performed in younger patients to correct a defect or asymmetry.
Nymphoplasty
Nymphoplasty, also known as labiaplasty, is a procedure designed to reduce the size of the labia minora when they are excessively long, asymmetrical, or uncomfortable. This condition may be present from puberty or be accentuated by pregnancies and hormonal changes. It can cause both aesthetic and functional discomfort.
Some women experience daily discomfort, particularly during sports, when wearing tight clothing, or during intimate relations, sometimes leading to repeated irritation and pain.
The procedure involves removing excess tissue while respecting the natural anatomy and sensitivity of the area. Modern techniques allow for rapid healing and a discreet, natural, and harmonious result. Thanks to advances in intimate surgery, the procedure is now more comfortable, with simpler postoperative care and a quick return to daily activities.
Vaginoplasty
Over time, childbirth and hormonal changes can lead to a loss of vaginal tone. Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to tighten the pelvic floor muscles and restore vaginal structure. It is indicated in cases of vaginal laxity, which may affect sensations during intercourse, but also to treat mild vaginal prolapse or stress urinary incontinence.
Performed under general anesthesia, the procedure involves tightening the tissues and repositioning weakened structures to improve support and comfort. Recovery is generally rapid, with a return to daily activities within a few days and resumption of sexual activity after approximately six weeks.
Depending on individual needs, a combined approach with non-surgical treatments such as vaginal laser therapy may be considered to enhance results and optimize perineal rehabilitation.
Monsplasty
The mons pubis, located above the pubic bone, plays a key role in the harmony of the lower abdomen and overall body contour. In some patients, excess fat or skin laxity may alter its appearance, particularly after significant weight loss or with aging. This excess can create a swollen or sagging appearance that does not align with aesthetic expectations.
Monsplasty refines and sculpts this area using gentle liposuction to remove excess fat, sometimes combined with skin tightening to restore a firmer, more toned appearance. Targeted liposculpture may also be performed to harmonize the entire lower abdomen and redefine the intimate silhouette.
This discreet yet effective procedure helps patients regain confidence and feel more comfortable in their bodies.
Labia majora augmentation
With age, weight fluctuations, or simply natural anatomy, the labia majora may lose volume, become wrinkled, or sag. This evolution can create a hollowed or aged appearance and may lead to discomfort or self-consciousness. In these situations, they also lose part of their protective function.
To restore volume, a more youthful appearance, and the original protective role, augmentation of the labia majora is performed using lipofilling. This technique consists of reinjecting the patient’s own fat, harvested from another area of the body such as the abdomen or thighs, through lipostructure.
This natural and long-lasting procedure restores volume without the use of synthetic fillers. It is quick, minimally invasive, and provides a soft, harmonious result.
