Depending on the amount and quality of fat to be removed, the procedure can last from 30 to 60 minutes and be performed under local or brief general anesthesia.

Return home is very quick, immediate in the case of pure local anesthesia, or after a few hours of observation. A dressing is applied to the upper neck to limit the inevitable postoperative swelling. Bruising may be visible for about one week. Most patients can resume daily activities within a few days.
