Micro lipofilling

Micro lipofilling, also known as autologous fat grafting, is the most innovative procedure since the invention of liposuction in the 1970s. Techniques are now perfectly mastered, allowing the use of your own tissues to provide a fully customized repair : correcting the effects of time, treating scars, or restoring volume.

Micro lipofilling is an extremely fine fat graft, subtle enough to be used in facial wrinkles and under skin that has been thinned by aging or burns. Learn more about this technique and its pricing.

General information about micro lipofilling

It has become quite common to use volumizing injections (with hyaluronic acid at the forefront) to fill wrinkles or enhance lips. It is now possible, instead of using a laboratory made product, to use your own fat cells.
For micro lipofilling, large fat reserves are not required, as only a small amount is needed.

Fat cells must be harvested and re injected using an impeccable technique, as they can die before or after implantation if this is not the case. This is why some people believe that “it does not work”. I most often use this technique for facial and décolleté rejuvenation.

Procedure of a micro lipofilling

After a 30 to 60 minute consultation, the diagnosis and therapeutic choice are established, and an appointment is scheduled for the micro lipofilling procedure. It is performed at the office in a room specifically equipped for this type of treatment.

A local anesthesia is applied to both the harvesting areas and the injection points defined during the consultation.

The nurse monitors your blood pressure and prepares the equipment. I perform the fat harvesting using syringes fitted with micro cannulas. You may feel slight pinching and gentle back and forth movements, but no pain.

The harvested cells are then processed and carefully injected into the face and décolleté.

The procedure lasts approximately one hour, after which you can resume your normal activities.

Results and after effects of a micro lipofilling

In both the harvesting areas and the treated zones, swelling may appear after a few hours, along with tenderness to touch. Bruising is almost always present at the harvesting sites and in the décolleté. On the face, this depends on the extent of the treatment.

Results are visible immediately and stabilize after about two months. The grafted cells will not move afterward, making the treatment permanent.

Price of a micro lipofilling

The cost of micro lipofilling varies depending on the amount of fat transferred and the number of areas treated. A personalized quote will be provided by Dr Prevot during your first consultation.

FAQ : Frequently asked questions about micro lipofilling

Micro lipofilling can be used to improve volume in various areas such as the face (to fill wrinkles or enhance cheekbones), hands, breasts, or to correct irregularities in different parts of the body.

Recovery time usually ranges from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the extent of the procedure. Patients may experience swelling and bruising, which generally resolve over the following weeks.

Although many results of micro lipofilling are long lasting, the body may reabsorb part of the transferred fat over time. Therefore, touch up sessions may sometimes be necessary to maintain the desired outcome.

Possible risks include bruising, swelling, infection, or asymmetry. Although the procedure is generally considered safe, any medical procedure involves risks, which is why the initial consultation with Dr Prevot is essential to discuss them in detail.
