Gentle Liposuction

To remove excess fat, liposuction has proven its effectiveness and delivers very good results. However, it can be associated with pain and bruising and, in some cases, may lack finesse. This is why I most often use the gentle liposuction technique. This approach is ideal for treating targeted areas while minimizing impact on the surrounding tissues. Unlike more aggressive techniques, it helps preserve skin elasticity and promotes faster recovery. Thanks to adapted instruments and a more delicate technique, a natural result is achieved without major trauma to the body.

If you have small localized fat deposits and a normal weight for your height (Body Mass Index between 18.5 and 25), you may benefit from gentle liposuction. The areas treated must be limited in size (for example, a small bulge above the pubic area). No more than four areas can be treated in a single procedure. Gentle liposuction is particularly well suited to delicate areas, such as the ankles, the inner thighs, or the correction of an asymmetry. It helps harmonize the silhouette with subtle, long-lasting refinements, without the risk of hollows or irregularities. In some cases, however, another liposuction technique may be more appropriate for larger areas, such as abdominal liposuction or arm liposuction.

Excess fat is removed using a microcannula and a syringe, which aspirate tissue with far less force than machines used for larger volumes. Thanks to the use of microcannulas, the procedure is minimally invasive, significantly reducing postoperative bruising and swelling. This surgical precision makes it possible to work gently, especially in areas where conventional liposuction might be too aggressive.

The fat removed can be reused if necessary to enhance the cheekbones or the décolleté (lipofilling). The skin is not damaged and, after retraction, regains improved firmness. During liposuction, close attention to volumes and transitions is essential to avoid any hollowing or irregularities.

The procedure takes place in the office under pure local anesthesia if the excess fat is limited and well localized.

Gentle liposuction can be used in more extensive cases involving more than four areas, but local anesthesia is then insufficient to guarantee a good result. It is necessary to request general anesthesia to avoid the risk of an overdose and to give yourself the best chance of achieving a successful outcome.

The duration is often longer than conventional liposuction, usually at least two hours.

The areas to be treated are first marked, then local anesthesia is administered through small injections. This is the only slightly uncomfortable part of the procedure. You remain awake throughout and can listen to music while seeing the amount of fat removed in real time.

During the procedure, I constantly adjust the amount removed to preserve a balanced and harmonious result. Every gesture is performed with precision to ensure a natural transition between treated areas and the rest of the body. The goal is to achieve a homogeneous result that respects your morphology.

You can resume your activities the next day and will wear a compression garment for one week. Pain is minimal, similar to mild bruising, and is easily relieved with a simple analgesic (paracetamol). 

Sports activities can usually be resumed after about ten days. As swelling and bruising are limited, recovery is far more comfortable than with traditional liposuction. The micro-incisions are extremely fine and become almost invisible after a few weeks, ensuring complete discretion.

Visible immediately, the results stabilize within one month, the time required for the skin to retract over your newly reshaped contours. With gentle liposuction, the emphasis is on subtlety and precision. It provides highly targeted yet meaningful improvements while respecting the body’s natural balance. This aesthetic treatment is ideal for those who wish to eliminate ultra-localized fat deposits without a prolonged interruption to daily life.
