Arm liposuction

Do you feel that your arms are too bulky, with persistent fat deposits? Many people face this issue and feel limited in their clothing choices or uncomfortable with their silhouette. Fortunately, arm liposuction is an effective solution that helps harmonize the appearance of the arms by permanently and precisely removing excess fat.

The goal? To give you slimmer, better-defined arms, ideally combined with regular physical activity to tone the muscles.

General information

Fat accumulation in the arms, particularly on the posterior aspect, is a common phenomenon, especially in women. This fat storage may be related to hormonal, hereditary factors, or simply an uneven distribution of fat cells. In some cases, the excess appears early in adulthood and persists despite an excellent lifestyle.

Arm liposuction is therefore an excellent option to reshape this area. By permanently removing fat cells, this procedure helps rebalance the silhouette while promoting good skin retraction.

Indications

If you experience aesthetic discomfort related to excess fat in your arms, this procedure may be suitable for you. It is particularly indicated for patients who, despite consistent efforts in strength training or weight loss, are unable to slim this area.

It is important to remember that arm liposuction does not replace a healthy lifestyle. It is designed to sculpt the silhouette, not as a weight-loss solution. An ideal candidate generally has a stable weight and sufficiently firm skin to allow natural retraction after fat removal. The procedure can also be combined with treatment of other areas, such as abdominal liposuction. In some cases, the initial consultation may instead indicate another technique, such as an arm lift.

Technique

In general terms, the excess fat is liquefied through infiltration, then a small opening is made to insert a fine cannula that allows aspiration of the fat cells. This technique is particularly demanding in the arms, and I favor a circular or semi-circular approach, which is the only one that ensures good skin retraction and a firmer, more natural result. Thanks to modern technologies and the use of very fine cannulas, scars are almost invisible and recovery is smoother.

Arm liposuction is designed to respect the body’s balance and enhance the silhouette with precision.

Procedure

The procedure takes place in a clinic, under general anesthesia, depending on your preferences and medical recommendations. It usually lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours.

After surgery, outpatient monitoring of approximately 8 hours is required. Once at home, certain precautions must be followed to optimize recovery and ensure the best possible result, including wearing a compression garment and carefully following postoperative instructions.

Postoperative course

It is advisable to plan a few days of rest to recover from the surgical stress. Returning to work is generally possible after 48 hours, provided that heavy lifting and abrupt movements are avoided.

In the days following the procedure, swelling of the arms and bruising are normal. These reactions gradually disappear within one to three weeks.

To ensure proper skin retraction and optimize the outcome, wearing compression sleeves day and night for one week is essential. In some cases, this period may be extended by one to two additional weeks.

Results

Immediately after the procedure, your arms will appear slimmer and more sculpted. However, the final result requires about two months to stabilize, allowing the skin to adapt and any minor irregularities to resolve.

In some cases, further improvements may continue to appear for up to six months after surgery. The objective is a natural, harmonious appearance, allowing you to confidently wear fitted or sleeveless clothing.
