How do consultations take place?
Consultations in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery are designed to provide a clear and reassuring space for discussion. They help establish a personalised diagnosis, propose an adapted treatment and allow shared decision-making regarding the most appropriate options.
The first consultation
This consultation focuses on listening to your aesthetic or reconstructive request, understanding your expectations and assessing your medical situation. A clinical examination is performed and, if necessary, medical photographs may be taken to document your file.
Dr Marianne Prevot, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon in Geneva, then explains the different treatment options, the benefits and limitations of each solution, as well as any possible side effects or contraindications.
A personalised estimate is provided at the end of this consultation, along with a detailed medical information sheet. The aim is to ensure that you have all the elements required to make an informed decision, without pressure.
Some surgical indications, which aim to treat an illness, may be eligible for insurance coverage. In cases requiring hospitalisation, if you benefit from complementary insurance for private clinic admission, we will be able to organise your stay in one of the local establishments.
The second consultation
Once you have made your decision, a second meeting is scheduled.
It allows you to revisit the information shared, ask any new questions and confirm the surgical plan together. This consultation is also the time to clarify practical details of the procedure (location, date, anaesthesia, any preparation). If the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, the consultation may also include a discussion with Noemi, specialised nurse in operative preparation and medical hypnosis.
Follow-up consultations with Dr Prevot
Postoperative follow-up is an essential stage of the patient pathway.
Follow-up consultations ensure the assessment of tissue response and the quality of healing. Specific care may be recommended, adapted to your individual needs, to achieve the best possible healing. Depending on the procedure, one or several follow-up appointments are scheduled at the practice. You will be supported at every step, with professionalism and kindness, by Dr Prevot, FMH specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in Geneva, and the entire team.
Teleconsultation
If you live far from Geneva, an initial contact can take place via videoconference. Simply follow the “teleconsultation” link and choose a time slot. If none of the proposed options match your availability, feel free to fill in the contact form. We will get back to you with additional suggestions for online appointments.
For international patients
For international patients requiring hospitalisation, personalised support will be provided by the coordination service of Clinique Générale Beaulieu.
