Chemical peel

A chemical peel is ideal to unify skin tone, shrink pores, and reduce skin patches. This treatment consists of the application of a substance that reacts with the different layers of skin to eliminate damaged cells. This process stimulates collagen production as well as cellular reproduction to create a “new skin”. There are many kinds of chemical peels, my personal favorite is the TCA peel, as it yields visible results with no complications. Overview

Chemical peels have been commonly practiced by estheticians and doctors since the beginning of the 20th century, and have since then been revised by dermatologists to become even more reliable. The skin has to be prepped for one two to weeks before the treatment and protected from the sun for the following two months, although this should be done systematically as sun rays cause skin to age faster.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Procedure” tab_id=”procedure”][vc_column_text el_class=”title title__md title__text-transform-inherit link__secondary” el_id=”procedure”]

Procedure

During the consultation, we will discuss your goals and assess the possible solutions. If we agree on a chemical peel, I will give you products to prep your skin. The treatment is done at the medical office and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. No anesthesia is needed. When the product is applied, you will experience a sensation of heat that may be high but very bearable.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Results and follow-up” tab_id=”results”][vc_column_text el_class=”title title__md title__text-transform-inherit link__secondary” el_id=”results”]

Results and follow-up

Your skin will appear reddish during the first few hours following the treatment. The color will then darken slightly and your skin will start to crack around the mouth on the third or fourth day. The entirety of your skin will progressively renew itself without any pain. It is important to stay away from sun exposure during this process. The final result is visible after two weeks: shrunk pores, eliminated patches, and tightened skin.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”title title__md title__text-transform-inherit link__secondary”]
