Vaginoplasty<\/h1>\n

The term \u201cvaginoplasty\u201d can refer either to the construction of a vagina on transgenders transitioning from male to female, or to a much simpler procedure aiming to repair the vagina of a woman after labor. After multiple pregnancies or sometimes for no apparent reason, women can sometimes experience loosening of pelvic floor and vaginal muscles. Vaginoplasty may be adapted for you if you have one of the following:<\/p>\n

  • Urinary incontinence with leakage<\/li>\n
  • Vaginal or cervical prolapse<\/li>\n
  • Lack of sensitivity during sexual intercourse with low muscle density in the pelvic floor area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Technique<\/h2>\n

    Two different methods can be used and are sometimes combined. A small incision is made by the vaginal opening, allowing to tighten the pelvic floor muscles.     The operation is conducted under general anesthesia and lasts an hour and a half. It is performed by both the plastic surgeon and the gynecologist working together.
