Breasts reduction procedures can be covered by certain Swiss health insurance plans if they require a removal of over 600g per breast in a woman who is not overweight. (Body Mass Index=weight in kilograms divided by height in centimeters squared. The BMI must be between 18.5 and 25) Each breast should weigh over 1kg to ensure that about 400g will remain after the removal of 600g.
\nMany women have a BMI of about 29 and struggle to lose weight because the weight of their breasts makes physical activity difficult, which creates an ongoing cycle, with the failure to lose weight because of large breasts causing them to remain large.
\nIn this case, breast reduction is the only way to end the ongoing cycle. Technique<\/h2>\n
For young women, I perform a simple liposuccion that can remove at least 500g without forming any scars.

Procedure and follow-up<\/h2>\n
The operation is performed under general anesthesia at the clinic. For a single liposuccion, the procedure lasts about an hour, and the patient can go home on the same day. Minor bruises may form and the patient will have to wear an adapted bra for two months. It is preferable to take a few days off after the operation.
\nFor the combined breast reduction, it is advised to stay at the clinic overnight and take two to three weeks off after the operation.
